It's a beautiful day outside; for the first time this year the car was warm (due to the sun's rays) as soon as we hopped inside this morning. Feels good. A solid indication that summer is just around the corner.
As for how thrifting has been going, I feel as if my finds have been pretty mediocre as of late but I'll share a couple recent things that have caught my eye.
This 1985 Transformers "Sun Raid" Coloforms book won me over while browsing the books section. It still includes a few coloforms inside but unfortunately not the entire set. The book also came with a tape that's apparently hard to find. With the cassette tape you could listen to and follow along placing the colorforms on their correct page to match the story.
These colorform books are pretty neat, I don't recall them as a kid but they were around obviously. Finding this one has sparked my interest in finding more of these sorts of books while out thrifting.
There were about 50 of these motivational posters in a bin; from a signature found on the reverse of a few of them we came to the conclusion that they came from a library. At 99 cents a pop they weren't cheap but I decided to pick up these three, the Peanuts poster on the right being my favorite.
That's about all my thrift finds from the last hunt. Hopefully our next visit will be more lucrative.
In other news, starting University next month, paid my admission fees earlier this morning - kinda nervous. Never thought that I would be heading to the University in this city, never thought of myself as that kind of person.
Holly is starting her vintage Sesame Street collection which in turn has gotten me pretty stoked. I recently watched a video posted on YouTube showcasing a Muppets collection and it looked beautiful.
Received a bunch of stickers a few days ago in the mail for one of my Panini sticker albums, the World of Cars, another one of my collections Panini sticker albums - although I haven't been aggressively pursuing them as much recently.
Never thought I would complete this album but after receiving this lot of stickers I'm pretty close to laying the final nail. I've posted videos of all my completed albums, you can find here.
And what thrift entry would be complete without a video of cats playing with an insect? Another thing that occurs when summer is just around the corner is the reappearance of potato bugs; our cats love playing with them, swipping at them and eating them. Here's a video I caught from just a few minutes ago.
